Mountain Mist from Night Owl Quilting

Susan made this serene quilt with a collections of Northcott's Stonehenge 2 1/2" strips.  The pattern is called Mountain Mist from The Quilted Button.

Susan selected the Mimosa pantograph and shiny Magnifico thread in color 2078 called Bay Leaf.

More Stonehenge fabric on the back!  I can imagine this quilt fitting into to so many different homes.

Two for Fern and Binding Services from Night Owl Quilting

Fern sent two lovely quilt tops that were pieced by her sister who lives in another province.  Fern wanted to help get these quilts across the finish line.  I was happy to do the quilting and send them on to my associate for binding - more on that later.

Fern prefers lighter quilting so I tried to choose pantographs that weren't too dense.  The sage green quilt received the Mimosa pantograph.

This pretty blue quilt received the Windswept pantograph which really has become one of my go to favorites.

Both of Fern's quilts were returned with completed binding. I ...

Batik Washboard Road from Night Owl Quilting

This version of the Highway 10 Designs Washboard Road pattern was made by me for a wedding gift.  I had a Hoffman Bali Pop in the Cappuccino colorway that I had been saving and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to cut into it.

I found a Moda Grunge fabric for the background and a nice dark batik for the border to bring it all together.

For the quilting I used the Mimosa pantograph.  You get to see quite a few pictures of this one as my helper was available and the sun and wind were in my favour!

If ...

Flannel Star from Night Owl Quilting

Wendy made the super cozy flannel quilt by raiding her stash.  There are some lovely woodsy prints that she collected over time that will be extra perfect for the recipients.  The piecing of this quilt is fairly simple with squares and HST but the impact is huge!

This quilt is a very generous size as you can see by how it covers my queen sized bed.  Wendy selected the Mimosa pantograph and I love the movement it add to the squares.  Wendy splurged on some Woolies flannel by Maywood Studio for the backing and it is thick and cozy, and ...

Scrappy Hourglass from Night Owl Quilting

Tannis brought over the beautiful scrappy quilt that she was commissioned to make.  I am not a maker of scrappy quilts, but I do love having them pass through my studio.  Tannis included a lovely range of fabrics that give the quilt the perfect warm and cozy feeling.

Tannis selected the Mimosa pantograph.  I love the additional detail of the pieced backing.   I great way to add interest when you might not have enough of one single fabric.

Two Quilts in One! from Night Owl Quilting

This is the first quilt that I have had the pleasure of quilting for Karen.   She dug into leftovers from other projects to make the top and amazing back!

We selected the Mimosa pantograph for a nice all over texture, and a kind of "ugly on the spool" greenish/goldish/brownish colored thread that blended perfectly across the entire quilt.

And now the unexpected amazing surprise - the quilt back!

Karen did not have a pattern for this, she just used the scraps to make this awesome Inukshuk,  This is truly a reversible quilt. Karen is keeping this quilt for herself ...
